ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to compare kids Urdu Qaida Mobile Apps for Tablet-PC from usability perspective in order to recommend the better App for the baby boys and baby girls. The pre-test and post-test questionnaires along with usability tasks were developed, where Fun Toolkit was used. 300 children from class KG, class one and class three of Urdu and Sindhi medium schools participated in the usability test. The pilot study was conducted by 20 teachers from selected schools for wording refinement and evaluating the questionnaires. In the actual study, pre-test questionnaire was filled by the students with the help of the researchers and teachers before starting the usability testing for collecting their demographic data. Afterwards, actual usability test was conducted where the children performed 3 selected tasks. The time was recorded for each task. After that the students filled the post-test questionnaire in order to gather their views about the Urdu Qaida Apps. The results show that the App3 (Urdu Qaida Kids Alif Bay Pay) is the best App in terms of Task Completion Time (efficiency), Task Completion Rate (effectiveness) and post-test questionnaires results (satisfaction). App3 (Urdu Qaida Kids Alif Bay Pay) is recommended to be used in the schools of Nawabshah and other cities of the country.
