Summary, etc |
Written specifically for engineering students by an engineer, this book's activity-based approach gives a realistic context in which to follow the problem-solving routine of an engineer. It provides a full course of study in mathematics for students following BTEC National Engineering and covers all the NII and NIII objectives. The book is divided into three sections, the first of which introduces students to engineering mathematics through a project approach to the design of a motor car. Students acquire fundamental techniques through tackling the progressive tasks, with step-by-step support, and as confidence is built up further mathematical topics are introduced. Throughout Section 1 cross-references to the Section 2 Information Bank enable students to find all the necessary techniques and worked examples to solve the tasks in Section 1. The final section also has a project-based structure, and cross-refers to Section 2 for help, but it focuses on other engineering applications in order to reinforce and extend the techniques learned through Section 1. A free lecturers' disk is included. |
